As a young migrant himself, Muhammad arrived in Australia with his young family in 1991 with the hope to seek opportunity in a multicultural country like Australia. In 1993, Muhammad and his family obtained Australian Citizenship and from then on he knew that this was something he always wanted to help others with. Muhammad obtained his qualifications in Australian Migration Law and Practice from one of Australia’s top universities – Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra. He is also a Registered Migration Agent with the Australian Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA Reg No: 0955557) and has always had a passion to help people wherever he could. With his professionalism, expertise in migration and dedication, Muhammad always strives to achieve for the best results and outcomes for all his clients.

Muhammad has developed his skills after having worked for the Australian Department of Home Affairs (formerly known as Department of Immigration and Citizenship, DIAC). He has also worked for the Migration Review Tribunal (MRT). Having attended several on-the-job decision making and problem solving training courses, these have developed his skills and knowledge further, and enabled him to take on more complex cases. Whilst working at the Migration Review Tribunal (MRT), Muhammad worked within the Client Services Team in relation to applications for review and corporate services, and has assisted in validity issues and initial processing of cases.

He also acquired extensive knowledge of tribunal procedures, guidelines, policies and practice, including the computerised information systems used by the tribunal whilst working at the MRT. He developed his extensive knowledge and understanding of the complex immigration procedures, schedules, policies effectively. Muhammad always ensures to keep up-to-date on the day to day changes of immigration which demonstrates his ability to acquire and interpret organisational procedures and guidelines. He has the proven ability to respond to client needs and a willingness to accommodate client requests without compromising legislative and/or policy obligations. Before working for the Immigration Department and the MRT, he worked in various research organisations where he developed his strong analytical and research skills by researching clients’ files, the legal basis behind the cases and the policies.

In his career, Muhammad has provided a wide range of services and has assessed very complex visa applications in a timely and efficient manner. He has experience in assessing and making decisions for hundreds of Bridging Visa E (BVE) applications against legislation and policy within tight deadlines. He has also liaised with a diverse range of clients, agents, consulates and other stakeholders on more complex visa related situations. In addition, he has assessed and managed immigration detention cases and most of his cases were affirmed by the MRT.

Having always provided high quality customer service to all his clients and strong technical knowledge and experience, management abilities, and effective communication skills, Muhammad has developed an outstanding ability to liaise with clients from various backgrounds and has resolved client problems effectively by harnessing his outstanding knowledge, experience and skills in the different sections of the Immigration Department. Muhammad possesses strong negotiation skills and excellent organisational skills, in addition to his exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, providing technical information accurately, concisely and efficiently.

Since this time, Muhammad had been working for several years to develop his own practice to service other migrants in the community to lawfully enter the country he now calls home, Australia.
